I get it. You are knee deep in laundry. Dishes are chilling in the sink, and you just completed your seventh scroll through your social media accounts. Nothing has changed, Fran posted another picture with her perfect looking family. You scroll on by without leaving a heart. You rolled your eyes, and you put your phone down. You don’t hate Fran, you hate seeing that someone else is making it happen. You aren’t happy, and you don’t have the energy to do anything about it.
I’m calling bullshit.
You are so stuck in the wheel, That you didn’t even know you were on one. You’re not going to like the first thing I’m going to say and that’s OK. You are exactly where you choose to be. No one is responsible for your happiness. These are both on you. The good news is, I can help you get back on track. Before you roll your eyes at me, listen. There is more to life than waking up to take care of kids, going to work and paying bills, waiting to die.
You were meant for more. I know I am adding to the weight of what you carry, but get over yourself. People need you. You need you. This version isn’t helping anyone. Stop scrolling. Stop comparing. When you step up, the load gets lighter.
You are worthy of joy. You are worthy of abundance.
Step One is an attitude of Gratitude. Write down what you are thankful for. Keep in mind if you want to default and think things are shit, they can always be one degree worse. If you are reading this, there’s one for your list. You can read, and you have WiFi.
Step two is to start small. Change one habit you know isn’t healthy for you. One at a time. Dont exercise? Walk for ten minutes today. Dont eat right? Choose a salad for lunch.
Step three is to Do something nice for someone else. Secretly if you can. Repeat this with as many people as possible. Do random acts of kindness as often as you can.
The next big step is to discover your passion. Was there something you really loved as a kid? Ask yourself these three questions:
1. List one thing you could do for five years and make a lot of money doing it.
2. If you won millions in the lottery, what would you do with your time?
3. What subject could I read about or study on YouTube without getting bored. Once you discover this, tap into it daily, plug in. Follow the people who utilize what you love and study them. Notice I said study, not stalk.
Now you are going to freak out and get scared at times. You will always find an excuse to stop. The comfort zone is where dreams go to die. Being brave will make you stronger than you have ever been. Go through the steps. Start over as many times as you need to. I love you more than you love yourself but I’m here for this. I believe in you and its your time to fucking shine.
